Transparent loading gifs3/31/2024 Email marketers everywhere are looking to add movement to their campaigns-and the most popular way of doing that is by using the power of animated GIFs.īut animated GIFs aren’t the only file type that allows you to add movement to imagery. No 'Object Library' to enable many slides to reference and display a single (editable) instance of a graphic, audio or video file.Animated imagery is one of the top email design trends for 2019. This data is all there buried in an xml file after publishing so why not let us actually help people with poor eyesight? You pay lip service to accessibility by not providing this facility. No proper control over the size and style of text in the SL menu panel. If I have a graphic exported from Adobe Acrobat that is 800 pixels wide and 10,000 pixels high, please let the image stay that size and extend the scroll bar to accommodate it. Poor support for images placed in a scrolling text panel - images reduce in size and have to be chopped up and placed manually in a vertical sequence. No program control over the size and position of an object (from variables we set) If SL2 retained a file's original name we could replace it with an updated file without re-publishing SL. Don't encrypt the externally-held media files we insert into SL2 (mp3, mp4, etc.) as unintelligible names. No direct access to variables such as the date, time, eased time from a start point without resorting to JavaScript Can't Pause or Stop the currently playing audio (rather than pause/play/stop named files) Can't jump straight to a cue point on the timeline I have submitted numerous 'requests' since 2012 for 'features' that should really be standard functions and not one has ever been implemented.Įxamples of what I have asked for since early 2012. Please don't ask me to submit a 'feature request'. Why does SL2 not respect the playback settings of a graphics format that has been around almost since the dawn of the internet? I used Authorware for 18 years and took this level of capability for granted. When I insert it as an image into SL2 it loops continuously, preventing me from illustrating this single movement. This animated gif can opens perfectly in any web browser and plays correctly once, then stops on the final frame. The movie has been created in Adobe Image Ready from a Photoshop layered file. I have created a simple 16 frame animation of an aircraft moving (plan view) through 90 degrees. When will SL2 handle animated gifs correctly? I really hope I just missing something that someone will point out to me, because if I'm not this is real shame. I've tried viewing the GIF in preview mode and published as HTML and HTML5, both with no success.I've tried playing the GIF on it's own in different browsers and they play smoothly and correctly in each. The result is a choppy playback that doesn't adhere to the original file settings. I'm told that Storyline operates at 30fps, but if I put in a 30fps animated GIF and publish, I can count out 2 whole seconds before a 1 second GIF runs its course. Not only does Storyline not recognize the playback order (loop, loop once, only play once, etc) but it doesn't respect the fps (frames per second) that the GIF is set to. I happen to create a lot of slick, smooth animated GIFs and and very disappointed in Storyline's playback of them. My thanks in advance for addressing this question/concern.
